I'm Catholic, and I wanted to make a project celebrating advent and explaining what it is, so here it is! What is Advent? It's the time leading up to Christmas where we prepare for Jesus's birth. We have many traditions such as advent wreaths (not to be confused with the Menorah, which is a Jewish tradition) and advent calendars. Advent wreaths are wreaths that have candles on them and each candle represents a different thing: hope, love, joy and peace. We light a new candle each week. I have programmed the candles to change with this. This year, they started on November 28, the first Sunday of Advent. Advent calendars go from December 1st to the 25th every year. Traditionally, they contain small treats such as candy, money, or jewelery. Since Advent is supposed to be a time of giving, I thought it would be cool to add some prompts on kind things you can do! You don't have to be Catholic to use these, I just wanted to spread some information of my religion. I would love to hear about your holiday traditions (if you celebrate) in the comments! Please be respectful of everyone's individual beliefs. I would be happy to answer any questions about Catholicism/Christianity that you have. I also understand that not everyone will be able to use all of these, and that is okay. They were just ideas, but obviously if you can't use them then that's fine. (And also if you can and just don't want to.) Anyway, I hope you like this project! I hope everyone who celebrates has a Merry Christmas! To Do: -Add drawings for each day -Add Christmas music
