WORK YOU **** THUMBNAIL- Welcome to the leader applications for Scratch Science Camp March 2022! We can't wait for you to join us this session, as a leader or a camper. If you would like to be notified of camper signups, drop Paige (@PaigeTurnerE) a comment on her profile. Please read the entire description as it may contain important information! <3 - - What is SSC? - - SSC or Scratch Science Camp is a triannual online science camp running right here on Scratch. It runs in March, July and November. You make a goal on how many minutes you would like to do on science during the month and try to reach that goal. There's also friendly competition between the cabins, too! - - FAQ - - >> When is My (Co) Leader Application due and when will leaders be announced? Your application is due on January 25th at 23:59 GMT. (No excuses) Leaders will be announced on January 31st, and cos must be chosen by February 10th. >> How will you (the hosts) choose (co) leaders? The leader of a cabin will be chosen by me and paige, and the leaders will choose two co-leaders, one or we may cut cos entirely, depending on numbers. >> What's the difference between a leader and a co-leader? A Co-Leader has less responsibility than a leader; but still has responsibility. They have much of the same responsibility a leader has except they don't make the studio and invite + notify campers. They are also curators in the main cabin. Leaders are like co-leaders but they create the cabin and get to be managers in the main cabin (they can also add main cabin points) >> What are the cabins? (note: please ignore the "____ has dibs" thing, it doesn't affect the cabins :) it's a quick reminder to me of who wants which cabin for next session) As always, these are constantly in flux, I have no idea what paige wishes to do with cabins this session, but the usual list of cabins and some more are as follows: - Archaeology - Astronomy - Botany - Chemistry - Ecology - Genetics - Geology - Mechanics - Physics Your cabin name is just a name, you can be in any cabin and do any type of science! >> Are there backup cabins? Not right now due to the low turnout of the last two sessions. >> When do Camper Sign-ups come out? February 1st! Ask Paige (@PaigeTurnerE) to be notified! >> Why do you ask for my timezone? We like a variety of timezones so adding points and minutes is easier as we have people from around the world. It is a very small factor. >> How will you communicate with leaders and co-leaders? We will use a Scratch discussion forum, made by me or paige. >> How will I know if you've seen my application? Paige and I will heart it, and give some feedback! The feedback is optional, but is highly encouraged to use to improve your application. >> May I change and improve my application for deadline? Yes! Of course, we always encourage improvement. >> What if I'm participating in SAC or another camp? It's fine! You can spend as much or as little time you want on SSC. It shouldn't take time away from SAC, or another camp. >> How will applications be judged? After the deadline, the hosts will look through the applications. You will be judged on your creativity, personality, answer quality, maturity and activity. We're also more likely to pick if you have participated in SSC, SAC or SWC before as you have a greater understanding of how camp works. >> How will minutes be updated? We will use many different systems - for example project, forum and splitting up campers between the leaders. - - Credits - - Slides made on Canva by Session hosted by and and ?
