Press space to change slides Sorry that there's no music or anything, I'm feeling really burnt out lately and my brain feels fried (if I make any grammar mistakes it's probably that too, I'm honestly too tired to be a grammar police at the moment) So... I learned how to use GIMP! This thing took like two months, so... welp :P Say hi to my new OCs! (I won't be one of those OC spammers, I promise. These guys would just be an excuse for me to doodle things. Not sure if I'm going to share those doodles, but still.) They're inspired by the Wings Of Fire series, so yeah. If these guys are a winglet in Jade Mountain Academy then I'd call them the Crystal Winglet. Because the Winglet names are all fancy rocks lol. Descriptions of characters: SeaWing - Turquoise. He's basically the cinnamon roll character. Nice, friendly, bubbly personality. His best friend is a human called Lily. NightWing - Believer ... thinking of NightWing names is really hard, okay? He's a mind reader, but he's not very good at it. That doesn't bother him though. He has this whole philosophy about making the world a better place, and he's really into helping other people (dragons?). He's also trying to learn how to speak Human, so that he can talk with them. I don't really like overpowered OCs, so he's not an animus or trice-moonborn or anything like that. SkyWing - Cirrus Okay, she's actually a hybrid (Sky-HiveWing - I love the giant dragonfly wings okay?). Also the only hybrid in her Winglet, first because I don't think the Dragonets of Destiny would put two hybrids in one Winglet, and also I really like the idea of normal dragons just being special without being part of a prophecy or being super-powerful or hybrids. Just normal dragons having fun with their friends. Cirrus is the optimistic and happy one, and also a bit of a cinnamon roll. IceWing - Mirror ... He doesn't look like an IceWing, does he? When I drew this I just loves the effect so much that I couldn't let it go. Don't worry, he'll look more normal if I draw him again. He's kind of like Starflight from the first arc in the books, really bookish and quiet and shy and stuff. SandWing - Topaz I imagine her to be kind of a combination of Sunny and Sundew. Small, SandWing, but also ferocious, while still having a sweet side. Or at least a nice side. She's the fierce and loyal kind of character. Really hard to bond with, but once she trusts you, BOOM, genuine friendship. However, she'll still be sarcastic and grumpy and stuff, she won't really show affection a lot. I also think that she's the kind of character who'll stand up against bullies without a doubt, and even though she's small, she'll win in a fight anyways. MudWing - Boulder Can I take a moment to express my awe at how awesome this part looks? I know that I'm the one who drew it, but I still absolutely fangirl over it every single time I see it. Definitely my favorite one so far. He's the Bigwings of the friend group. If you read the WOF books you'll know what that is, but for those who didn't, a Bigwings is basically the big brother/sister that watches over the rest of his/her siblings. It's a MudWing thing, as all the MudWings are born into a group of siblings, and the oldest dragon is the Bigwings. I think that since Boulder is going to be the biggest one of his friend group (MudWings are generally big, maybe because they live in a swamp and it's going to take some strength to wade through all that mud without getting stuck), he might take up the unofficial role of Bigwings in his friend group, sort of like what Clay did with the other Dragonets of Destiny. RainWing - Lotus She's the calm, serene one in the friend group. I want her vibe to be similar to Tamarin's, only that she's not blind. I think she's also going to be one of the patient dragons, probably along with Boulder and Believer, who can deal with Cirrus' and maybe Turquoise's cheerful chaotic energy without being overwhelmed (ahem, Mirror, ahem) or annoyed (I'm looking at you Topaz). Here's how I think the general dynamic of this Winglet is going to be: Cheerful - Cirrus & Turquoise Cinnamon roll - Cirrus & Turquoise Quiet - Lotus & Mirror Mature - Lotus, Boulder & Believer Protective big siblings - Topaz & Boulder Queen of Sarcasm - Topaz Opposite of the QoS - Cirrus (I like to imagine Cirrus and Topaz as a sort of YingYang situation, because I believe that Cirrus can be sarcastic and grumpy, she just chooses not to).
