What’s more is that this was the largest volcano on Earth! The people living closer to the volcano were trying even harder than most to get away and into boats with their families. The ocean was brownish grey from the dust and debris that had started to fall slowly from the sky. There were lots of colourful boats scattered across the surface, with many people sailing away as quickly as they could. The ‘dust and debris’ as we called it earlier was already starting to build up in pines on the roofs of some of the taller buildings and the ones closer to the volcano itself. Unfortunately, most of the people in Hawaii and the surrounding areas thought that this would be just another one of the many smaller eruptions that had been happening quite a lot lately- just a trickle of lava and some smoke, maybe a few ashes sitting on your front porch in the morning. However, alas. Only later was the massive eruption predicted to be so-well-massive. When the volcano finally erupted, only a few people had managed to escape this first eruption in their speed boats and yachts.yes, first. You see, This eruption triggered another eruption from another volcano close by, and so on until one triggered eruptions and earthquakes in the ring of fire. There were some of the most powerful earthquakes and tsunamis the world has ever seen. This was called the triggeruption. When the conundrum ended, many countries had been completely destroyed or submerged underwater. Others were covered in lava and cracks. These were nicknamed 'unlivables’. Most of these unlivables had dust or other particles floating around the air and almost all of them had too many chemicals in the soil and air to sustain human life, hence the name. The only other places left were England, Denmark, and a small part of australia. One day, some scientists from England and Denmark discovered a humongous plate of land approximately the size of Russia that had broken off that they hadn’t seen before. When they went over to study it, they actually found signs of life! First just some soil with worms, then plants. Later during the exploration they even found some aquatic animals- they weren’t sure of the species but they couldn’t mark it as a new one because it was only there for a second and they couldn't find out much. They did however find out (well, it was more of a calculated guess but..)it used sonar to communicate. And there we go, the new island of Sonar. The scientists got volunteers who helped them to clean the soil, plant trees, build houses and eventually move people and animals there! After fifty long years Sonar was its own bustling country full of life. Welcome to Sonar.
