This project simulates natural selection using random mutations in a list of genes in simulated organisms to establish trends in which some organisms are more likely to survive than others. Press the green flag and select the starting number of organisms. Click on an organism to view it's statistics. Press space to spawn a custom organism. Look in the notes and credits to see the meanings of each variable/list.
Inspired by Sethbling (The Youtuber) !!! THIS WILL BREAK A CHEAP COMPUTER !!! [IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO SPAWN MORE THAN FIVE STARTING ORGANISMS] Scroll down to see what the various lists and variables mean. |Making this project, it was really neat to see how the simulation exploited any glitches in the system. Any time there was a bug, the population would adapt to use it. It's really neat to watch this project work. And just for the record, I don't believe in evolution.| SCID:The ID of the selected organism. DMOVES: The number of times this organism has moved. DSPEED: The speed at which this organism moves. DOFFNEED: The food value needed for the creature to reproduce. Also affects the food value of it's offspring. DFOOD:The current food value of the selected creature. When this falls below zero, the creature will die. DOFF:The number of offspring the organism will produce. DDET:The determination of the selected creature. Determine how far it will move. DLIFESPAN:The lifespan of the selected creature. &CLONEID: The number of beings that had existed in this run. OFFSPRING-TOBE:A list of genes being transferred into clones of organisms. LIFEFORMS: A list of the genes of every organism currently alive. Music: Opus No 1 by Unknown
