Chapter 24 Joining the Campaign (Author’s Note: I try very hard to make it different from D&D) I looked through the many different colors and sized cloaks and outfits. I found a normal beige cloak with a few pins and sigils on it, and it came with a plain white dress shirt, and black pants. I walked out of the closet and dressing room, to see all nine members of TVoTD sitting on comfy stools and ottomans while talking and writing stuff down. “Oh wow!” Buttons exclaimed “Work that outfit bestie!” “YAAASSSS!!!” Timtam screamed. Man, that guy has some volume control problems. Moony walked out of another room and was amazed for the second time at this beautiful big room. “What are you all writing about?” She asked. “Oh, we are just obsessed with this game called Basements and Demons.” Arometh seemed very excited about this game. “Yeah! It’s awesome!” Some person said that I don’t know the name of. “How does it work?” Moony asked. “Well, There is a person called The Basement person (or the TBP) who tells a fantasy story with aspects of a board game. You have some 19 sided dice that you have to roll when the TBP says so. If you roll a Natural 19, then that is usually a good thing.” Morichar continued for what seemed like an hour. “CAN I PLEASE FREAKING KILL THEM!?!?” (i forget) screamed “Well you have to roll for Initiative.” Morichar said “Ok. Lemme see” he said as he rolled the dice. “NOOOOOOOOOOOO I GOT A 1!!!!!!!!!” “Imma just go…” I said “Wait wait no! We need 3 more members in our campaign because this guy and this guy both decided to die and we don’t have a Tylonol Guardian.” Charles said while pointing to these people wearing name tags that said “Hi my name is Rayth/Makira/Gabe and I’m an idiot” “Okayyyyy….” I said slowly and awkwardly. “Maybe another time. I kinda have a deadlined quest I need to finish with Moony and Adrian before I start playing Basement games.” “Fine.” A dude wearing a different uniform than the rest, and looked way older than the rest of the campaign said sadly. Arometh patted his back “It’s ok Mr. C, we will find other people to be in our campaign.” And then I grabbed Moony and Adrian’s hands and ran out of there. “Rea stop!” Moony yelled in my ear. Ouch. “Those people are crazy! We have a quest to finish in a couple days and we do not have time to play some knock off D&D!” “What’s D&D?” She turned her head like a dog. “DEMONS AND BASEMENTS BUT WAY BETTER!” Adrian screamed “Ok well they are trying to help us so we need to listen to them and get their help.” “Fine.” I really didn’t want to go back and hang out with those weirdos, but I guess I had to.
