They are responsible for guiding souls, protecting the spirit realm, and brining balance across the 100 universes. Each Rune is an individual species of bird. There can only be one cardinal, one bluejay, one raven, ex... There can be multiple of the same category of birds though. There can be more than one corvid, more than one eagle, and more than one owl. When a Rune becomes an adult it is assigned one of 7 skillsets. They believe this is based on what their god thinks fits them. Skills: 1. Priests: These are the Runes that run their society. They are the leaders 2. Caretakers: The parents that take care of the kids. Most only take care of one Rune but they take two when twins are created (twins have to be the same bird type). They started taking more when the Wrathe Rune war peaked. 3. Teachers: They are exactly what they sound like. Yes Runes go to school. Their education system is way better than ours. 4. Soul organizers: They are responsible for making sure all the soul types are balanced across their and other universes. They do the most work in the physical realm. 5. Warriors: Protects other Runes from outside threats. 6. Mindreaders: This is the rarest one out of all of them. Over the billions of years the Runes have been around there have been less than 10 mindreaders. Most Runes see this as curse rather than a blessing because all the mindreaders have converted themselves into Wrathes. 7. Healer: They are responsible for healing any spiritual disease another soul my have. Diseases can include cosmic oil, soul leaching, phantom pains, and sense blocks. Before the height of war they spent most of their time healing mortals that have recently died so they can have a comfortable afterlife. When the Wrathe Rune was peaked they spent their time doing research on how to stop cosmic oil from spreading further amongst their species, and attempting to heal those who already had it.
