A cold breeze swept in towards Micro, who was curled up in their bed. Or at least, the only bed that was known to the young howlie. They could hear the door creak open, followed by the heavy footsteps of the scientist who had created them. Micro's head perked up slightly. ``W-would it um... would it be alright if y-you could close the windows?`` They shivered. ``It's just that its really cold in here...`` The scientist smiled at Micro. Nodding, he closed every window in the facility, coming back to the howlie a few moments later. ``I'm going to take a few of your brothers and sisters to the lab to run some experiments.`` He patted Micro's head before walking out of the room carrying three howlies. It was that next dreadful day that Micro could once again hear the loud scraping noise of the door opening. The scientist stumbled into the room, his head dipped down. ``I... I just didn't think it would go this way...`` Micro suddenly looked worried. ``What do you mean? W-what happened?`` The scientist looked at them, but not with the usual sparkle in his eyes. ``Oh, Micro... I'm sorry...`` He laid down the howlies that he had experimented on, electricity sparking here and there from broken circuits. Their displays were completely empty, and they just sat there, lifeless. ``No! No, no, no- this can't be happening!`` Micro was panicking, and tears began to appear on their face display. ``No...`` The small howlie placed their paws on their siblings, sobbing quietly. People screaming, howlies stampeding, glass breaking. Micro jumped out of bed, running around frantically. They knew this would happen, but they didn't expect it to be today! They let out a sigh of relief as they looked down at their paws, seeing their three siblings still there. They grabbed them all by their tails and sprinted out of the facility, trying not to drag them too much. Wings spread, the howlie took off. They flapped as hard as they could, almost crashing, being pulled down by the weight of three other howlies. Street after street, sign after sign, building after building; Micro felt like he was going in circles. But they had to keep going. They had heard about a human called Dr. Scring, and how he had the ability to fix almost any broken piece of technology-even howlies! No, not that one, or that one... not that one, either. None of those buildings had the distinctive blue door that would mark the home of Dr. Scring. But all of a sudden, there it was-Micro had never felt so relieved. In an attempt to come to a stop, they nearly dropped their siblings as they fumbled around in midair, wings unsteady, heading straight for the door. The howlie held the others close to them, praying, suddenly crashing into the building; Micro had just missed the door and wood began flying everywhere. Dr Scring burst into the room in panic. ``What happened?`` His expression were filled with shock and worry, but he seemed to be concerned about the damage done to the howlies rather than his property. Micro's face display had begun to glitch and he sparked electricity here and there before powering down, no longer moving a single inch. But Dr. Scring knew exactly what to do, and he didn't waste a second to do it. Micro awoke slowly at first, not remembering what had happened. All of a sudden, though, they scrambled to their feet, recalling the crash. ``Dr. Scring! A-are you here? M-my siblings... Y-you have to help the-`` They realized they were in some sort of capsule, but not like the ones in the lab where all howlies were created. This one was... cozy. Micro ran their paw along the blanket, feeling the soft texture that was new to them. They knew at once that they didn't want anything else to do with the spare wrenches and screwdrivers that were the lab beds. Micro flinched as something soft brushed up against them. They turned around to see that it was their sister. And their brother-oh, and their younger brother, too! Their face displays were all filled with joy, in such great quantities that Micro couldn't help feeling the most happiness and relief they had ever known. ➳ finishing later bc im eating lunch at school rn and im too tired to finish (again) bahahaaa i cant think straight
