╱╱ My opinions on drama ✧ As I'm sure many of you have seen, there has been a lot of drama going on within the aesthetic community. people have been impersonating others, and taking "heavy inspiration" (read: copying almost completely without credit) and everything is spiraling out of control. I want to address both sides of the situation. First: The person getting impersonated/stolen from. This person, often either a very well known or a very known scratcher, makes something they are very proud of. When they find out that someone has stolen their work, they are crushed. It usually causes them to stop making content, and question what they should do. In some cases, the scratcher comes back rather quickly, but in others they leave. Either way, feelings are getting hurt. Second: The person stealing/impersonating These scratchers, often very new or unnoticed, receive a huge amount of hate for what they did. In some cases, the person apologizes, and it can stop rather shortly. However, more often the person denies it, and the original scratcher's friends/followers go in and basically tear the person to shreds. Now, I'm not justifying what the person did on any terms. However, it is not necessary to say anything past "please stop" and report, unless the person is actively denying and/or provoking people. Honestly, it's a lose-lose situation. The person who gets stolen from is hurt, and the thief gets nothing out of it. Finally: Please- just please think about what you're saying or doing before doing it. Countless amounts of drama could be avoided, and so many people could remain unhurt. Think about both sides of the story before commenting, and remember that there is a real person on the other side of the screen. - Meritt
