Heyo Oreos, 2021 is wrapping up, so I figured I'd show my improvement over the course of these 12 months! -------- It'll start on January, the oldest piece of artwork in this project. To proceed, just click it! To you remember which month you're on, I've included a small bubble in the corner. -------- January: This was an art trade with one of my bestest Scratch friends, @ZiaHusky0202 ! At the time, I was pretty proud of this, however, I don't really like it now. The face is a little creepy, and it doesn't feel right. February: This was a DTA entry, which again, I was proud of when I first made it. I do like the flow of the hair and the background, but that's pretty much it. March: Oh man, finding a piece of art for this month was hard! Turns out that the only digital thing I drew in March was a Fennekin masterpiece on Animal Jam! For AJ art, I'm still just as proud of this as I was when I first made it, although that may not be fair since it's the only nonhuman piece in this project. April: This is some art I drew of an old OC, Macalla. I remember resketching the pose over and over again, and still not liking it that much. I think the worst part is mostly just the hair and how stiff her arms are, the rest is okay. May: This was when I still was learning side views, and when I chose to draw my pirate OC, Sakura. I don't like it, but it isn't the worst. I do like the pink lighting, and I think that's a big reason why I don't completely hate this artwork. June: Okay, this one took so long.. It isn't my longest, but that's when I realized that drawing 2 characters in the same canvas was a pain! The left one is Katla, the right is Ziriza, both are old OCs of mine. I think Ziriza turned out cute, I usually wouldn't like her expression, but she's a doll, and that's why I'm okay with it. As for Katla, I don't really like how she turned out. Oh, this is also the month I started adding eyebrows to the characters I draw! July: Now we're moving into art that's more recent, or at least, that finally took care of my previous shading style. It's still a bit like how it was before, but I did start experimenting more. Anyways, for this specific piece, I actually do like it. The only thing I wish I'd done differently is the left arm, looking back, it looks a bit strange. Also, quick note, this was an art trade with August: This was one of more simple pieces, drawn for an art trade with the one and only.. !! I honestly still like it just as much as when I first drew it, and I don't have much else to say. September: This is definitely my best contest entry, although lately, I haven't been entering too many. I like the pose, expression, and how the fire and water twirls around her. The pink highlights do look kind of messy though. October: In case you haven't noticed, I don't really draw my own characters digitally. Nor do I draw scenes very often. This image of Lilith changed both those things, and I really do like it. The lighting was hard, and I don't think I did it 100% right, but in my eyes, it isn't too distracting. Oh, this is also when I found a new favorite canvas size. November: Another drawing of my own character, Ciara! This was mostly a practice in chibi, and it's okay. I think the head is a little too big and the overall expression is.. Meh, but the pose and clothing shading makes the whole thing a lot better. I also like the simple background. December: By far the best one here.. This is some jinx fanart for Arcane, which I actually finished and posted last night! This month, I've been testing out a new shading style, again, and I finally put it to use with this art piece. I don't usually draw hands, but yes, I did that in this picture too. -------- Looking back at some pieces of art I've done each month, I definitely am seeing a lot of improvement. Some of the biggest things I've done this year with my art is: Shading styles (Breaking away from blur shading) eyebrows Positions/Views This has been a productive year (For art, anyways)! -------- I'd also like to thank the art community, you all are great! -------- Happy-3-days-early-new-years! -------- Credits: Art: MagiKitty_ Program: Ibis Paint X OCs: Variety (ATs, contest entries, and fanarts, have credit when mentioned) -------- Tags: [ October ]
