(PRESS SPACE) I...can't believe I bought this, but at the same time, I'm so happy that I did xD So, the Soul of Chogokin Megazord. Ever since I saw this thing, I wanted it REALLY bad. Being my quiet nerdy self, though, I felt like I didn't deserve to ask my parents for such a premium product. Cut to 3 years later, and my money is now my own. Thankfully, I was able to avoid the ridiculous prices that this thing goes for nowadays (See https://www.ebay.com/itm/193353965410?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2d04cb5f62:g:~tsAAOSwjR5gErMa&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAA8Df0Oj311SLO5huAPhqeJKQfuUD2XofENCBre90lB1zI%2BXhPpwgzkTTuZG7lKdi1cs0rvad5wuixV6PC5PwHKVKQAxm7NA2QphGxL13rMzKD3HuzKtfcFLaJ05D4HghFI9r%2FLXUqjXECORxMJa3jn58f5ctPd6BIaIEZ5brWHFU1bsDkdJ3rcPqaL%2BMXEDnDbkgsNqwv9plJ12Dun3nCkqbQcspXLFxjKvexjo4uhZq1P7cC4zYlMHXaF4todHfJHjmsrJNrHrzlUPBW%2F%2FYzu7JrEO%2FhDVN0ZYDXaV%2FvVGdnTZjCLlVSTxlIkHRc5kimhQ%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBM1rX_1cFf for the horror show) and got this guy for about $150! Was it worth it?
Starting with the individual Zords, I'd say they're pulling it off great! Very show accurate, but instead of stickers, the details are fully painted and sculpted. This thing feels VERY premium in hand. And, being a Soul of Chogokin figure, all of the zords have some areas of diecast metal. That causes some issues, but it's best to save it for combined mode. Now, because this is a used copy, there are some wonky bits here and there. One of the symbols in the Mastadon shoulders likes to fall out, the Sabertooth tiger's right tire is missing a small chunk, the Triceratops has a loosely-connected front paw, (That has gone missing) and the T-Rex has a loose right outward hip joint. And a lot of the chrome on the figure is unfortunately starting to wear out. It's thankfully not as bad as I've seen in some videos, but it is unfortunate. Other than that, they're fantastic individual figures! On to the Dino Tanker Mode. It's just as silly as I remember it being, but the size of it gives it some GREAT presence! It's not the most solid, which makes it a little hard to hold in your hands, but if you're careful, it can be a really fun time! And finally, the big kahuna itself, the Megazord mode. This thing is an absolute WORK OF ART. All the painting and sculpting shines brilliantly in this mode, and it does great justice to one of my favorite Megazord designs ever! But there are a few issues. Some of the joints are a bit too loose, the chrome is, again, slightly faded, and it can't really hold its weapons. Speaking of which, the Mastadon shield and the Power Sword are great accessories. They harken back to the original TV show designs, while still trying to be their own thing. But like I said, the Megazord doesn't exactly hold them the best, so trying to pose them while its holding them is more frustrating than I would've liked. Unfortunately, I seemed to have misplaced the sword, but I'll get some photos of it along with the shield if I can. So, all in all, while it's definitely not perfect, the Soul of Chogokin Megazord is a fantastic figure, and being a Power Rangers fan, I am absolutely in love with it. 7/10!
