・・・・・・・・・・・・ I struggled with sizing issues, so press space or click to look at each individual piece ・・・・・・・・・・・・ Hej! To kick off the new year, I decided to do an art summary. So without further ado, my art through each month of 2021! ・・・・・・・・・・・・ ‣ January ・Title: Ocean Eyes ・About the Art: I had the song Ocean Eyes stuck in my head, so I made a piece based on it, similar to @Painted_Serenity 's ・Critique: Aurora's (my old OC) face is really round and the fur and eyes are too spiky. The shading isn't that nice either. ‣ February ・Title: Aurora with Ying-Yang Symbol ・About the Art: I was in the mood to draw something deep, and thus this was born ・Critique: I don't like how I drew the eyes, the ears and fur are all weird, the head's too round, and the face is too flat-looking, but I like the glow on the ying-yang symbol ‣ March ・Title: Nikita by Window ・About the Art: Again, I was in a mood. This time I wanted to draw something peaceful. It's based on a piece by @-Katsocks- , one of my inspos. Since this is a new account, I should probably mention that Nikita is one of my main OCs. ・Critique: The head is round, the fur is weird, and I don't like the street outside the window, but those are easier to overlook than in the other pieces. ‣ April ・Title: Aurora at Sunset ・About the Art: This was originally for a forever-unshared welcome project on my old account. ・Critique: I don't really like the muzzle and the eyebrows are too tall if you focus on them, but if you set that aside and the lighting, it's not that bad. ‣ May ・Title: Anti-Nikita ・About the Art: This is an anti-sona of one of my main OCs, Nikita. ・Critique: I actually don't hate it! I'm sure if I focused on it for longer I would find more things wrong, but there are no blaring mistakes ‣ June ・Title: Reaching for the Stars ・About the Art: I've had a similar idea to this for a while now, and I'm happy that I finally drew it. I remember I made this right when I figured out how to use the alpha lock :) ・Critique: I'm still proud of this! I think it would be a really fun piece to redo annually so I can see if I can get closer to the idea that this piece was based on ‣ July ・Title: "Home is Wherever I'm With You" ・About the Art: This is a piece about me and my two best friends. A lyric from the song Home reminded me of them, hence the name. ・Critique: Clover (the character on the left) just looks a bit weird and so do certain parts of Aurora's head, but other than that, it's pretty okay ‣ August ・Title: Bust of Brynne ・About the Art: I had a spread of all my favorite characters in my sketchbook and I redid a couple digitally, including Brynne. She's from the Art Shah series, btw. I almost gave the August spot to another drawing, but I figured I should add a human into the mix. ・Critique: I like this a lot! I have no criticism! ‣ September ・Title: Nikita ・About the Art: This was based on a piece by SolSerendipity. I don't really have much else to say :p ・Critique: I love this one so much! I might add some lighting to the nose, but that's not really a problem, it's more of an edit. ‣ October ・Title: "That Greco-Roman Dream" ・About the Art: Based on a quote from a song written by my favorite band, The Oh Hellos! I have multiple different versions of this, including one with the lyric, but I like this one the best because of the shading and lighting. ・Critique: Don't really have much to say about this, except that the right ear is a bit weird. ‣ November ・Title: The Bear House (In Boreas Style) ・About the Art: This is fan art for a book I read called The Bear House. The drawing is based on an animation that can be found on The Oh Hellos' YouTube channel ・Critique: The sun isn't perfectly round, but it's not a super obvious mistake. ‣ December ・Title: Profile Pic December 2021 ・About the Art: The title says it all! This is my profile picture! ・Critique: The lines are weird, but that's because the Scratch profile picture sizing is really small compared the the brushes in the art program I use ・・・・・・・・・・・・ ‣ 2021 Art Overview: You can really notice the changes in my lining. I go from using thicker lines, to the lines getting smaller and looking sketched in some pieces. As I said previously, I learned to use the alpha lock about half-way through the year, so that definitely helped. My heads and bodies also got less blocky and I drew a human digitally! Granted, I traced over the traditional version and I probably won't digitally draw many other humans in the near future, but it's still an accomplishment! ・・・・・・・・・・・・ Happy 2022 everyone! ・・・・・・・・・・・・ ‣ Credits ・Art: ・Coding: ・Song: Stockholm Lights; My Shot ・Music Artist: The Diviners; Lin Manuel Miranda and the cast of Hamilton
