Press space to go between the base image, the rocket blockshade, and the mission patch blockshade (if applicable). - FACTS ABOUT THE ROCKET - - Built for NASA for the Mercury Program between 1960 to 1963. - This rocket launched the first American into orbit, and also served as a target vehicle launcher for the Gemini Program. - This rocket was derived from the US. Army's Atlas Missile and was built by Convair. - The Mercury-Redstone was fueled with RP-1 and Liquid Oxygen (LOX). - This rocket was designed to reach orbit and had 1½ stages, because it was unknown if rocket engines could be re-lit at the time. This blockshade gets uglier and uglier the further down the rocket you go. lol
