One day while they were resting in bed listening to the soft chirp of birds and quiet buzz in the air, he heard screaming and echoing footsteps. They pounced off the bed and peered out the window cautiously. heavy smoke clouded the air, homes all around him ablaze and crumbling. Buggy turned to see fire crawl up his stairs, cornering him in his room. He looked back at his room, looking for an exit. As he jumped out the open window he landed roughly on the stony path, bruising his leg. Buggy limped out of the town into the open field. He gasped softly as he gazed at the ashy village, nothing left of it. No one left in it. Tears spilled from his eyes as he ran far, far away. a twig grappled onto his paw, slamming him into a thicket, entwined with scraggly bushes and rocks; the sun fell beneath clouds as he was left in complete darkness. Buggy's eyes stung, and their whole body ached. Closing his eyes, he felt at rest. 'I could decide where to go later' he thought solemly, eyes closing. Morning would come soon.
