Chapter Eight KATHERINE WALKER Why oh why did she have to crack her head on the sidewalk? While Reyna mixed up an energy potion, I tended to Thalia’s head. Now, for an advanced healer like me, that normally would have been no big deal, but Reyna hadn’t brewed the energy potion yet, therefore I was still very, very tired. I managed to stop the bleeding and prevent any further damage to her head, and I was just starting to heal her when I fell face-first towards the ground. Luckily for me, Thalia’s body was still laying there, so when Reyna woke me, I wasn’t seriously damaged. Just a bit shaken. “Whoa, you okay?” Reyna asked as she helped me up. “I’m almost done brewing the energy potion. Do you still need me, or can I continue?” “I think I’ll be fine,” I said groggily. “Go continue.” “Success!” Reyna said after what seemed like forever. I immediately perked up and ran to her pot. “Give me some, give me some, give me some!” I said eagerly. Reyna laughed. “After all this yelling, don’t you think I’ve already given you some?” I paused, puzzled. “You mean you put some energy potion into my water bottle?” “Yes, dummy.” Reyna laughed. “Didn’t you feel a burst of energy when you drank the water?” “Yes, but I always feel like that when I drink moonwater,” I said. “Fair enough. Now, go back to healing Luna. Thalia’s fine.” I usually didn’t like to take orders, but with the energy potion, I eagerly bounced back to Luna’s stretcher before frowning. “Where’s Amanda?” “Dunno,” called Reyna. “Thought I left her with you.” “I thought I left her with you.” I said, greatly puzzled. “Hey, where’s Thalia?” Reyna asked. Our eyes met. “They better not have gone out on a quest without us.”
