Piper Being a daughter of Aphrodite is horrible. For me, at least. Drew was throwing a fit in cabin 10, naturally, so I decided to take a walk on the beach. The beach is just north of the cabins, but walking there takes quite a while.I wish Leo would just come down with Festus so I could hitch a ride. Where was Leo? I started walking though, because that, I guess, was the best way. I stopped, and realised that going on Chiron would be much faster. But Chiron was absent. Why? I had no idea, but Chiron never left without notice. The only way to find out where Chiron was, is to ask Mr. D. But talking to him is a drag. He just plays poker or other card games all day. Never listens. Never cares. But unfortunately, he is the only one who could give information. I had no choice, so I went to the big house. Inside I saw Mr. D, as usual, playing poker. As I peered into the window, I saw him play cards with…… a ghost? THe person, or ghost, was shimmering white and blue, flickering, and holding cards. I feel like I've gone crazy. Mr. D, playing cards with a ghost??? I quickly ran inside the Big House, though my first instinct was to scream and run. When I got inside, I never paid attention to the details. I just rushed to Mr. D and asked “POSEIDON'S PACIFIER WHAT IN THE OLYMPUS ARE YOU DOING?????” “Thinking,” he replied. I rolled my eyes, then got back to angry “WHY ARE YOU PLAYING CARDS WITH MINOS????” “He is not Minos, Peter McPan. His name is Gabe, and he is a serious poker player ” The name Gabe reminded me of the time I heard Percy talking about his stepfather, a poker player, named Smelly Gabe. Could they be related? I ask myself. “Gabe is the stepfather of Peter Johnson.” Dionysus said it like he read my mind. Finally, I asked “Where’s Chiron?” “Oh him? Off to deal with a centaur problem.” “Tell me more” I said “No,” he replied “Go ask Peter. He’s at the beach” “Can you teleport me there?” “No” After all, I guess I had to walk a long way to the beach. Then another one of my great ideas came to me. So I quickly headed to the strawberry fields and pulled out my phone. Phones are dangerous to half bloods, monsters can track them down. If anyone saw this, they would take my phone away. I immediately went to the Hermes cabin. “WHERE IS Connor?” I asked a camper I always forgot the name of “Umm actually I have no idea” she replied. She sounded suspicious, so put all the power into my voice and said “What is Connor doing?” He just finished calling the party ponies.” “Where is Connor?” “He never told me where he was'' That was enough info for me. I was bummed she had no idea where Connor was, so I decided to search for him. Wait…. Bunker 9…. I could start there… Maybe Connor was there…. That was a long way to go, even farther than to the beach, so after all, I would have to walk a big distance. I quickly ran to the pegasus stables, so the Ares kids in the archery range thought I was checking out the pegasuses, just like every Aphrodite kid did. I ran to the southern woods, planning to encounter the geiser gods, so I would not have to encounter them. As I walked towards the geysers, I got really confused, by now I would hear them, doing whatever they would do. Then I heard a sound….. No….. This was the wrong sound… Suddenly, a big ant crawled toward me…. It was a myrmeke. I rolled, slashed, fought, and seemed to be winning, until 3 more came at me. Nononononononononono I screamed to myself. One slashed with an ugly gash, across my leg. I thought that this was my fault, but then reminded it was Drew’s fault, thanks to her fit.I wondered if it was over yet. I lay there, sprawled on the ground, leg bleeding. Suddenly, I heard a shout “Shoot fire at the giant ants, not Piper!” I heard a click then a creek, then fire blasting out of a particular dragon’s mouth. I lifted my head up, and said “Hi Leo. WHat are you doing here?” He answered, “What are you doing here?” I told him my story. “Connor? Hmmmmm….. I think our priority is get onto Festus and go to the healer's hut. Come on Festus, let’s go” Festus got us on to him, and we sailed to the healers hut. Suddenly, when I was placed on a bed, I got an idea. I pulled out Katropis, my knife, and saw Conner Stoll in Bunker 9. Great. The vision disappeared, and I started closing my eyes.
