The Republic army's LAAT Gunship (Low Altitude Assault Transport) was in service with the clone army from the very beginning of the clone wars right up till the early days of the empire. The LAAT was used to transport troops to the battlefield in large numbers while providing heavy fire with it's four composite-beam laser turrets, three anti-personnel turrets, and twin mass-driver missile launchers.
