He found her in an alleyway at night, eating scraps from a dumpster. Cal felt bad for her, so he gave Abyss some food and walked away. When he looked back however, Abyss was following him. How he named Abyss was because he found her in the alleyway which reminded him of an abyss. Cal hates his boss Serenity, not only because she’s a total jerk, but because she is his ex. Serenity keeps flirting with Cal trying to get back with him, even though Cal shows no intrest in her. The only reason why he hasn’t quit is because she gives him extra money since Serenity wants Cal to like her back. There also aren’t many cafes around that have a high salary, so he continues to work at his current one. The cafe he works at is called “Hikage Cafe” since the surroundings of the cafe are dark, or in the shade. Also, the main reason why Serenity and Cal broke up was because Serenity was cheating on him with Cal’s ex-best friend. She was also verbally abusive, which is why he doesn't want to get back with her. His regular customer, Lance, is one of the only people he talks to currently. Cal doesn’t have very many friends, as it is hard for him to socialize with people. Despite that fact, Lance was the only person he has worked up his courage to talk to. They are friends outside of work life too, and Cal has a slight crush on Lance. How they became friends was when Lance saw Cal at the lake, and Lance went up to talk to him. The two found that they both shared a lot of interests, which is when they quickly became close. Also, the yellow part on his hair is a birthmark. He's had it ever since he was born :)
