Ahem. Name: Kaushalya Balakrishnan Age: Probably around a year younger than the other characters. Gender: Female Sexuality: Yes, this is probably the only straight character / student in the series, but she doesn't actually really know that much about LGBTQ+, or just the sexualities surrounded by it, and just doesn't want to date, so it doesn't matter anyway. I guess that would make her aromantic, but not exactly. I thought it would be cool to have a character in a book that doesn't start off feeling like something is different, yet go on with their life and learn along the way or something like that please don't start saying I'm homophobic or something like that please- Role: That supportive friend that one doesn't actually think that much about, the one that's so... normal on the outside, but once you learn a bit, you realize that she's not exactly standard. The one that's third-wheeled, forgotten, looked over, etc. Not in a bad-Mary-Sueish way, just the way you'd say hello and talk to your best friends first before talking to her in the morning, things minor like that. Personality: Kaushalya is just a naturally quiet person, they love studying and reading, and is a high achiever. She keeps to herself, and isn't exactly unfriendly, but doesn't give off the 'Sunshine and Rainbow' vibe. She has a big love for the sciences, and literature. One day she'd like to become a scientist. A few fun facts about Kaushalya, she's awesome at making tea- like, awesome, and has a bit of trouble with English at times. Kay's social skills are not non-existent, they are rusty and need many oil changes. :D Looks: In project! Backstory: Kaushalya Balakrishnan is an Indian American girl born in Andhra Pradesh, India. She lived there for ten years before moving to the U.S with her parents, and as a result knows three languages in all: Hindi [national language of India], Telugu [commonly spoken in that region], and English [National language of USA] , and has a bit of an accent when speaking English. ~~ Made on Sketchbook yay scratch ruined the quality! - Codeword is the grandmother that may or may not be added into the story and beat up fAtHeR. But if that never happens, Dawn's my fav!
So, here's a small little "glimpse?" of her introduction, if Kaushalya gets accepted. To be fair, @-shattered_mirror- did this with their cameo first, so full idea credit to them.]] ~~ Hazel fiddled with their pen, watching the teacher talk and pace around, like most teachers did. So much had happened in the past few days- she becoming- well, realizing, that they were a paragirl [and pansexual], realizing that Heather was a good-for-nothing homophobe, and meeting a friend that they were increasingly becoming closer with: Dawn, and the... "spat" with her father... well. Even if there was a lot of Hazel was grateful for a few things. One: Dawn was in her history class [the one that Hazel was in right now], and so was Noah, both of them a few seats ahead of her. And another thing, a little unrelated to the whole situation, but comforting nonetheless, was the fact when the big-group-project-20%-of-the-grade-level-project of the school term in History rolled around, Hazel ended up with team-mates they knew well and were enjoyable to be around. Well, most of them anyway. ___________________________________________ "Alright! Everyone, groups are assigned on the paper on the bulletin board, once you check, meet up with your groupmates and get started on your assignments!" The teacher declared, watching the crowd of students merge into a little mob, elbowing each-other in their [mostly vain] efforts to see who they were paired up with. Hazel decided it wasn't the best idea to go straight into the quote on quote 'battlefield', and waited outside hesitantly until Dawn came back out of the crowd. "We're partners! And so is Noah!" She smiled, gestured to the person next to her excitedly. They gave a little wave. "We also have... K-Kau.. sorry, your name is?" He glanced embarrassedly at a new girl next to them, with short shoulder length black curls and an oddly uniform attire. [Even though the school didn't have a uniform.] Hazel recognized the girl- she was the one, who, at the beginning of the term, the teacher had to stop the whole attendance and figure out her name. Not that the girl had been bothered, even when it happened a few more times with students and substitutes. The girl took a deep breath. "I'm Kaushalya, that's pronounced Kow-shal-ya, Balakrishnan. I'm your new team-mate, and yeah. Let's go get a 100 on this project" Well, this would be interesting.
