She'd also gotten greencough but recovered. At this point, Ponderosa was already an apprentice, so losing her parents was a great blow. She used to be excited and social, but her parents' death led to a sudden change in personality. She now prefers time to herself, is doubting herself constantly, and blames herself for her parents' death because she believes she's the one who infected them with greencough. Others tried convincing her otherwise, but eventually gave up, letting Chirp blend into the background of the clan, hanging around gentle friends who also like the quiet.
