Stemore is an extraordinary little cat who as seen some amazing things in his short life. He was born to a ship's cat off the coast of South America. A few weeks after he was born, Stemore fell over the side of the ship while exploring. He was washed ashore by the tide, where a riverboat captain who took tourists along a branch of the Amazon river found him. He nursed the tiny kitten back to health and called him Fox, for his inquisitive nature. While Stemore sometimes enjoyed a night's stay or a trip on the Amazon with the Captain, he was always restless. One day, he said goodbye like only a cat can, and trotted off into the jungle. The Captain understood perfectly that his little Fox had to wander, and wished him well. Stemore walked for two weeks, until he came to an airport. Led by curiosity, the little cat smuggled himself into a bag on the nonstop flight to Liverpool, England. When the family arrived, the exhausted mother and father unloaded their bags without noticing their furry little friend. It wasn't until they got home that they discovered the stowaway. Of course, the little girl insisted on keeping him and naming him Stemore. Too tired to do anything else, her parents agreed. Now, Stemore is happily living with his family, and is loved by the whole neighborhood.
