Cicadas. It was all I heard as I watched the sun slowly rise above the tall mountains. I groaned, I never wanted to awake to another day of searching for a permanent home, as it got tiring. I got up, stretching and scanning the area around. Trees aligned in a line-like fashion, Fantails singing their typical song on their brittle branches. It didn’t feel comforting, however. Knowing that I had to leave this rather peaceful area made me shiver. I had no idea if I’d end up in an unwelcoming place, or a hazardous place. I stopped looking around and grabbed a dead mouse. I didn’t quite enjoy eating raw food, but I’d have to deal with it due to the incident. I scarfed it down, my face soon twisting into a disgusted grimace as the unpleasant aftertaste hit my tongue. I raised my head to look at the clouds slowly passing by. I’d have to leave around evening, and continue my exhausting, prolonged journey once again. I walk around the forest, a variety of birds singing their rather obnoxious song. I didn’t want to leave this place, but sometimes the nature here just makes me want to. Mice and other rodents scatter out of my path as I fail to catch one of them. My stomach growled, even though I just had a meal, these small scraps of mice weren’t enough to satisfy my hunger. I raise my nose to sniff out any other valuable prey, but nothing but the scent of the trees comes. I sighed and looked at the clouds. It was already evening? I couldn’t believe it. Had I been walking that long? I stopped, soon taking one last glance at the environment and soon leaving the area by squeezing through some trees. I soon enter a vast expanse, with nothing but the smell of grass. I sighed, guess I’d have to keep moving. Great.
