⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀『 ❛ stealing + claiming as your own ❜ 』 ⠀hi everyone <3 grace here. ⤿ so today i'm going to be explaining to you all why stealing/claiming as your own is done, + what happens when it is. c o n t e n t s ▢ Why is it done? ▢ An example ▢ How does it affect people? ▢ What can you do? ▢ Outro Why is it done? -⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀- well, it's done for a lot of reasons. one reason could be fame. people assume that when they make an account name similar to the real account's name, they'll get more followers because people think that the impersonators are the real accounts. An example -⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀- say Bubble-Frog, for example, and BubbIe-Frog. right now you're thinking: what's even the difference? well, the first one has an 'L', while the second has an 'i'. see how that can be quite confusing? plus, if they remix all of the accounts projects, until you go into the actual projects, you'll have no clue who is who! How does it affect people? -⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀- when impersonators do the things they do, the real accounts usually always end up leaving, quitting, moving, etc. especially if they see that the fake account has tons of followers (which has happened sadly). this is just wrong. it's not right at all. What can you do? -⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀-⠀- well, you can start off by reporting the account. making a project might help but it will do no good once it's taken down by the ST. you just need to make it known so everyone can help out to get the account removed.
