(CLOSED) Horse themed short story creative writing challenge ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Goal: Write a short story with an equine as a main character or focus of the story. This could be told from the horses perspective, a humans perspective, or even another animals perspective, as long as an equine is the main idea. Due date: Last day of March, I don't think this contest will be very popular and February is a short month so I've chosen to extend the due date Prizes: 1st-Custom horse 2nd- Recolored horse of my original drawing, you get to choose the horse (I have the right to say one can't be recolored) Rules: -Be kind and respectful of others and your placing -No plagiarizing or copying others (this includes stuff like re-writing black beauty except the horse is bay and named Dakota) -Fantasy equines (unicorns, etc) ARE allowed -Be creative! Looking for: -Creativity, a unique story that is something that has never been done before -Word choice, using more complex words (Scary vs terrifying) -Well written, makes sense to read, I want to read more, very few grammatical or spelling errors, has beginning middle and end, includes things like dialogue, thinking, and imagery -*Bonus* story has a theme or has a deeper meaning Steps to do: 1. Plan your story, plan main characters, main events, and basic story 2. Open a document meant for writing (I use google docs) 3. Write your story 4. Re-read and revise your story, add more imagery or sentences to polish it 5. Check for any spelling/grammar errors 6. Put it into scratch!
