Using the editor: The editor allows you to make your own levels and share them with the community. Drag and drop Hugo to determine his starting position, and draw using your mouse pointer. Your selected block is displayed on the right, and you can navigate the blocks with the arrow keys, or with the keyboard. Importing Levels: Have a level you found or made that you want to try? Just click the import level button and paste your code! Upcoming Changes / Patches 1) Remake the Level Editor Problems: - Currently the editor is not mobile friendly, and isn't the easiest to use in general - The editor has a bug where Hugo will become misaligned when moved on evenly spaced levels Solutions: - The block selector will have a recently used bar, and an item selector that is accessible through touch. - Probably rewrite the grid snap script for Hugo, because I can't find the problem with that one. 2) The text system Problems: - It's just really poorly made in general. Not only is the concept for how it works flawed, but there's errors in the code as well with how scratch handles case-sensitive equals. Solutions: - I already have made a new text engine that works better, I just need to implement it. 3) A filter system for levels Problems: - The game will currently try to decode any text put into the import level area, and will get stuck with improper inputs. Solutions: - Lots of checks and an escape loop.
Thanks y'all for all the positive feedback. This was a proof of concept with a quickly slapped together editor and ui. I have been working on and off on a complete rewrite with a story and better puzzles, however it's been put on the back burner for now. Happy Scratching! If you made a level you want to see added to the game, post them in the comments, or in the Hugo forum here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/578493/ I will be adding other peoples levels every so often, and would love to see new creative levels! Also feedback would be great, I'm open to any suggestions to improve this. People who have made levels: 1) -TheNoobMan- This game is a game that I originally made on a TI84 graphing calculator, and then made again with the iOS shortcuts app. Broken$9$9$3$3$bSSSSSbbbbSbbbSSSbbSSSbbbSbbbbSSSbSbbbbKKKbSbbbbPSWbSbbbbbbbbSbbPSSSSSSbbbbbbbbbb$minekraftkid
