Karma: Hunger Games Short Clip ~Carissa~ When Ty disappeared from sight, she knew something was wrong. Carissa and Victoria skidded to halt next to a crater, where Ty was struggling to hang on. She knew the careers were right behind them. They had to help Ty. "On three," She said, grabbing his arm. Victoria grasped his hand and tensed. They wouldn't be fast enough. "Three!" She shouted, yanking up. Ty swore as his arm gave off a nauseating sound. She dropped his arm. A flicker of grief passed through his eyes. "Don't you dare," Victoria whispered, barely audible. It seemed more like a millisecond than a minute. Next thing Carissa knew, Ty was plummeting down the crater. "NO!" Victoria screamed. Carissa fought back tears. She tried to pry Victoria back, while resisting the urge to jump down there herself and save him. By now, the careers were upon them. Carissa turned slowly and drew her bow, tears now slick against her face. Jackson crashed through the brush, his bow also drawn, followed quickly by Logan and Raeh, who were then followed by Connor and Ellie. A cannon shot fired behind them, and Carissa winced. It was all too much. Liam first, burning in the acid, tearing him apart physically and mentally. Now Ty. Victoria bit her lip and ducked away. Jackson stared at them for a minute before lowering his weapon in bowing his head. The rest of them followed suit. It took Carissa a moment to remember that these were Ty's friends. Carissa loosened her grip on the arrow and let it fall to the ground. Jackson approached her, sending wistful looks at the crater. "Just this once. For him. But let me tell you, you WILL pay for what you have done," he snarled. Jackson backed up and ushered the rest of the careers back into the woods, leaving Victoria and Carissa to stumble away in grief. ~Jackson~ Jackson woke, A cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. He shook his head and muttered, "Stupid Nightmares." He stepped lightly over the rest of the careers and over to his corner of camp. The memorial stone stood deftly against the hill, the clay hardened. Jackson ran his fingers over each name, ending on Maddox's. His breath caught. It was his fault. His friend could have lived, gone home, lived like a king. Instead he was dead. Because of him. Maddox's sword lay next to the stone, and he breathed at the tiny spot of blood on the silver blade. It was then when he decided fully that he needed revenge. Jackson had thought it was Carissa walking to their camp. Carissa had shot Cooper. If Will wasn't in such a hurry to save Cooper, he wouldn't tripped. It was all because of her. And she was going to pay.
