this isn't US-based, but it's an african movement so i figured i could write about it for black history month? i haven't done too much research on this topic but it seemed interesting to learn about :) (click/tap or press space)
tl;dr: pan-africanism was a movement to promote african solidarity and culture by rebelling against imperialist and racist ideas. african nationalism, african socialism, and afrocentrism were examples of pan-africanist ideologies meant to prioritize african culture in education, society, and government.
