It's not that he's shy -- he's an easy conversationalist and is a pretty agreeable wolf. It's just that he would rather learn things about others from a distance. He doesn't talk much until he's in a conversation, in which case he's more open and funnier. However, he does not realize that this only worsens his confidence. Along with having low confidence, Bryer also has a tendency to overthink things and worry constantly -- about nearly everything: his pack, other packs, if natural disasters will strike, if he'll be betrayed... He imagines tons of bad scenarios all the time. Which, as you can imagine, does not help his confidence at all. This tendency to worry makes him a suspectable victim to anyone who would want to manipulate him.
