This is late- buuut, this is Whispberry (the silver molly) and Oakfrond (the red-brown tom) and they’re Ashy’s parents! <3 I finished the story now lol ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whispberry was lowered into a crouch near a pile of leaves, trembling. Her large stomach, which held her unborn kit, rested on the grass below her. It was the one thing she was determined to keep safe. That was made clear by the sight of her beautiful silver pelt now decorated by long, deep scratches. Her left ear was torn and dripping crimson, her legs shaking under her weight. yet, her belly was unharmed. Still, who would do such a thing to a queen? The answer was quite simple. A psychotic tom with mental issues. And this insane cat happened to be no other than Whispberry's mate, Oakfrond. The molly let out a quivering breath, trying to hold back her sobs of fear. /Why would he do this?/ she asked herself internally. /What is his goal?/ It was honestly a good question, and the answer wasn't very clear. Not to Whispberry at least. But, she knew that she had to keep moving. The closer she was to the LavaClan camp, the safer. So she pushed herself up and looked around for a hidden path to creep along. After scanning her surroundings for a moment, she realized that there were no hidden paths, unless she wanted to go into the trees -- which she couldn't. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, the queen decided to take note of every bush she passed and if any danger came her way, she'd hide there. Whispberry nodded confidently and started moving, her progress slow but steady. As she pushed herself onward, her ears perked. Rustling. Fear hooked around her heart and she looked at the closest bush she saw, only a few fox-lengths away. She could do it. She /had/ to do it. Whispberry turned towards the shrub just as a voice rang out, as clear as an eclipse covering the sun. "Dear, please come out. I didn't mean to hurt you, I have myself under control now. I promise," the voice said, sounding close by. The words, however, made the queen pause. She wanted so badly to go back to the tom and pretend like nothing happened, but she knew that wasn't smart. Instead she hurried over to the bush, shoving herself into it and pressing against the nearby tree. It felt like an eternity had passed before she finally heard something besides her own pounding heart. Footsteps. Loud steps, for that matter, and they were close by. The molly peered around the large trunk and froze, her eyes widening. Just to the left of her hiding spot was the large, red-brown tabby tom. He didn't look dangerous, no, not to her. Instead, he looked sweet and tender. Of course, those thoughts disappeared when she saw his face. He had a deranged smile and a crazed look in his eyes. It wasn't something Whispberry was used to seeing. "My dear," Oakfrond mewed softly, looking around. "Come on out, please.." The queen sucked in a sharp breath when his gaze passed over her spot. Luckily, he didn't see her. "Whispberry..," he called, starting to pad off in the opposite direction of her. "Where are you?" After he had left, the molly let out a breath she had been holding in and sunk to the floor with a sob. [End]
