I scrambled quickly to pick up my belongings, Tyler crouched on the ground next to me, grabbing some of my books and putting them in my bag. When he came across one of my drawings of Aleks, he stopped to stare at it. "Is this him?" he asked tentatively. I glance at Aleks, who was leaning against my locker behind Tyler and he nodded. "Yeah, that's Aleks." Tyler smiled softly, "He looks awesome, can he hear me right now? Is he here?" I glare at Aleks, who has resulted to giving Tyler bunny ears while laughing loudly. "Yeah, he heard you. Aren't you gonna be late to class?" I asked him, straightening up and swinging my backpack over my shoulder, my journal tucked under my arm. Tyler is the only person who knows about Aleks and what he is. During the first day of my freshman year, I lost my journal, with all my thoughts about Aleks written down in it. I was frantic, constantly checking the lost and found and asking the office workers if anyone has come to return it. Finally, I was approached by Tyler, who was a sophomore at that point. He held out my book to me and he looked extremely guilty. "I read it. There was no name on the cover, so I read it to find out who to return it to. Sorry for invading your privacy," he said, apologizing profusely. At first, I was extremely angry. All my secrets about Aleks were known now. But then I saw his face. He didn't have any pity for the little girl who saw things and heard voices. He looked....hopeful. "Do you want to be friends?" he asked, trying to peer into my eyes, which were downcast.
