Scratch Reading Camper April '22 ~ Camper Signups! Before you sign up, it's always important to read the FAQ :D Q: What is SRC? A: Scratch Reading Camp, commonly abbreviated as ‘SRC’ is a fully on-scratch camp where you read to gain points for your cabin! Every day there will be a new daily that allows you to gain even more points for your cabin, so make sure to stop by when you can. Not only will there be dailies, but also weekly themes, weeklies, and decision questions! All of these are reading-related so be sure to grab some good books! Note that this session runs on UTC It’s fine if this is not your time zone! it only affects when camp officially starts/ends and when the dailies change! Q: So, how do I get to camp? A: Easy! Log onto scratch, find the studio that has your cabin, and comment there. That simple. You don't have to go anywhere, log onto anything, or provide information concerning personal things. Additionally, there's no minimum or maximum time you're allowed to spend in the studio. Q: What do I do, how am I sorted, and this is my first time. What's a goal and what should I make mine? A: To sign-up, you fill out a few questions in the comments. During camp, you do the optional activities to gain points for your cabin and read! You'll be sorted into a cabin by your page goal, timezone, the leader you requested, and more. A good goal for a first-time camper is 500-1,000, the sweet spot probably being 750. A goal is quite literally the goal you want to achieve. Page-wise, and activity-wise. Q: I'm worried about how original this is. In the past, there have been originality and credit issues with SWC. Have you sorted these out, because I don't really want to join if they haven't, but I want to join so badly- A: We've added credit, for one thing, and we've added more of our elements and twists. In our December session, we had no problems, and we've improved on our originality :D Q: Who are the counselors? A: Sci-Fi School - @crumblinq- - @Squeaks1 Fantasy Forest - @red-chxry - @11007567 Paranormal Palace - @TwirlStar - Adventure Airport- - The Lost City of Mysteria - - Hi-Fi Hideout - - Q: If I like a certain type of book or a certain place, should I pick that cabin? A: Nope! They're just names. If you're in the adventure cabin, you could still read dystopic books! Q: How do I sign up? A: Just answer these following questions in the comments and you are good to go :D 1) Username - without @, please 2) Timezone - It's perfectly okay if you don't want to tell it. 3) Page goal - as stated earlier, a good page goal for a beginner is 750-1,000. The original page goal cap is 10,000. However, you are allowed to make your 10,000-page goal higher IF you have finished it and run it by your leaders, who will run it by the hosts to ensure everything seems right. Please only make a 10,000-page goal if you are confident you will hit it or come close to sorting issues. There's no shame in a lower-page goal! 4) How active will you be during April? - Please answer with one of the following: very, semi-active, not very, I might check in once every couple of weeks 5) Who do you want your leader to be? - Are you okay with being sorted into a different cabin?* 6) If profile comments are off, how would you like us to notify you? Any specific ways to /not/ notify you? - This applies for activity checks (once camp-wide before sorting) *Please co-operate with the leaders, we will try our best to place the campers in their preferred cabins, if you don't get in your preferred cabin, please don't blame anyone. Sign-ups will close on March 23rd, 2022 for the sorting and backups will open again rapidly after on April 1st Credits: Canva for the thumbnail SWC and SRC for inspiration Previous (co)hosts and for hosting this session with as a co-host for some of the desc. :P Music- 'Dreams' by Bensound You for seeing this!
