Click on the atoms to see their phase diagrams. If you don't know what phase diagram are, you can learn about them in the notes and credits!
So basically, a phase diagram is the graph of a substance's state of matter as a function of it's temperature, and the pressure of its environment. The most simple ones will be ones that say "solid, liquid, and gas" in certain regions of the graph. However, there are also phases on this graph that you may not know about, like the solid crystal phases BCC, FCC, and HCP (which describe the arrangement of atoms in the solid), and a supercritical fluid (cool name), which is a liquid/gas intermediate phase which holds properties of both liquids and gases. For instance, supercritical fluids can: - Have the low viscosity and high diffusivity of a gas - Have the density of fluids.
