Okay- so I've mentioned I'm a traditional artist- This is my process :) Sometimes I do Digital too, but I much more prefer traditional, as you'll notice 1. I start off with a sketch in my sketchbook. I also used a few references for this, so- 2. I put it in my drawing software and add the line art. It's very thin, and the hand doesn't look great- 3. I make a clipping mask to colour on. It's a tedious process, but still- 4. I start colouring the skin, and this is the point I decide that I really don't like it- 5. I create a copy so I can go and put this on nicer paper to do it traditionally with my markers. 6. I completely trash that idea and do something else :) Here's the sketch. (I forgot some steps) 7. I did my lineart and clipping mask then I put down my skin render 8. Next I shade the hair 9. A few steps later, I've added colour everywhere else, shading, patterns, and highlights 10. Next I add a simple bg 11. finally, I sign and add a screen tone :) 12. I came back later and added finishing touches I'd missed :P
