BIO: Name: Alice (Calls herself Night Ranger) Gender: Girl Age: 13 Personality: If confined, she will be angry, but when she is on her own and free, she is much more happy. Other: She has always lived in the city, but used to belong to a group of stray cats. She was a normal blue tabby, but one day an earthquake struck the city. She was pinned under a building and went unconscious as waste from a nuclear power plant corrupted the air around her. When she woke up, she was purple with a white spiral on her head. But that wasn't the only thing the nuclear waste did to her. Her paws, the two halves of her body, one ear, and her tail were all separated... I v Story
Credit to Acatwizard for the contest. ~ Backstory~ Part 1: Alice Alice snarled as the other cats once again moved away as she entered. It didn't make her sad, that they were afraid of her, but it irritated her. She grabbed a plump city pigeon and bit into it. When she finished, she made a move to approach one of the other strays, Vix. Vix jumped about 5 feet straight up when Alice greeted her, but recovered and said, "U-um... h-hi Alice." Alice sighed and walked away, and Vix settled down. Alice growled to herself, "Well, that went smoothly. Obviously no one is scared of me," rolling her eyes. She looked down at her paws, somehow separated from her legs. Her upper and lower body were also separated, and her tail was separated in two places."This was as new to me as it is to them when it happened, so why can't they get over it like I did?" She snarled. The next day was much the same. She ate, hunted, let the other cats keep their distance from her, but when she overheard a mother cat warn her kits to, "Keep away from that scary purple cat, yes, that one over there, with the weird paws and tail," something snapped inside of her. She didn't care who she became or what happened to her, but she was done being the outcast. DONE. She lunged at the cat with a fearsome yowl, but two other strays pinned her down. She bit down as hard as she could on one's tail and kicked the other one in the belly. They both collapsed. More cats came and piled on her so she could not move. The leader of the group of stray cats walked in. "Alice," he started. "I understand why you did this. So, I think maybe we can accept you back. What do you say?" Alice knew her answer before he had even finished the question. "No. And my name's not Alice anymore. Never call me that again." The leader seemed surprised. "Then who are you?" he asked. Alice hesitated. A twinkle of the night sky seemed to call to her. She roared and swung her claws around. Cats pounced onto her, but she flung them back just as quickly. The leader turned to flee, but Alice was too fast. She landed in front of him, and wrestled him to the ground. She stepped back from him. "My name is Night Ranger." Night Ranger turned and bounded away from the small hideout. She catapulted from building to building, climbing higher and higher. At the highest peak of the city, she stopped. Below her were tens of hundreds of humans, cats, dogs, pigeons and other animals. And she had conquered them all. Night Ranger tilted her head back, took a few deep breaths, and yowled her victory to the night, to the stars, to the sky. Part 2: Night Ranger Night Ranger sprinted across the rooftops of the city, clearing jumps that any other cat found terrifying. She'd been scared when she first jumped them. But not here, not now. The pigeon she was chasing flapped its wings faster and faster, trying to get away. "Oh, no you don't!" Night Ranger thought, and grabbed its leg in her jaws. The bird flopped about until she swiftly bit its neck. Then, she sat down to enjoy her meal. A yowl interrupted her thoughts, and she looked down to see what was going on. Two cats she recognized from the group she used to be a part of were hunting a tiny mouse, even though they looked thinner. Night Ranger sighed as the mouse got away, because she knew what to do, but she didn't want to do it. She tore off the wing of the bird she had just caught for herself, and dropped the rest down for the other cats. That night, Night Ranger couldn't sleep. After finally settling down, her eyes popped open again. "Okay then. I'll go see if those cats weren't the only hungry ones." She stepped out into the cold night air and raced back to her old home. After she made sure all the cats were sleeping, she walked in. Night Ranger gasped at the sight. There wasn't a single cat, even a kit, without its ribs showing. The beds had almost no feathers or moss. A plump, furry mouse scrambled in front of the entryway, and Night Ranger, without turning around, kicked it in the head with her back claws, killing it instantly. She picked it up and pulled the fur off of it. She picked up a kit and pushed the fur into its nest. She set the kit back down and pushed the mouse in front of it. The kit snuggled into its new, softer nest and Night Ranger smiled. She went back to hunting, and caught two pigeons, which, after pulling the feathers from and using them for better nests, she pushed in front of cats. She continued this until the first cats started stirring and she had to leave. The next night, however, did not go as planned. She had just finished placing a fresh-caught mouse when a cat woke up. "Alice!?" Vix asked. "I'm not Alice anymore. I'm Night Ranger." "Oh. Okay." Vix replied. "Well, thank you for the food and bedding, Night Ranger." "I could teach you if you want." Night Ranger offered, and Vix agreed. By the end of the night, Night Ranger left Vix knowing her old pack was in good hands. I hope you liked it!
