Totally not entirely based on a novel by J.R.R Tolkien. (I promise there is more land, based off Zelda, CCRP I, Europe, and Oceania.) Mountains are dark green, forests light green, and yeah. Note: I'm not Hannibal when it comes to trolling people. I'll honestly answer your questions while still maintaining secrecy. You can remix and make your country now i guess.
So.... resources. Very different, innit? So basically there are 9 different resources: Cu - Copper (used for armor and weapons) Rk - Rock/Stone (used for fortifications, cities) Or - Various Ores, used for random stuff as you will see when tech comes out. Nf - Natural Foods (basically you can hunt here, also graze horses + cattle) Ar - Arable Land (Grow food here, raise horses here) Fe - Iron (Used to make weapons and armor) Lm - Lumber (Used to build, can be refined into planks) Pr - Precious (gold, silver, diamonds, whatever) F - Fish (food source). The colored areas on the map indicate where a deposit of the resource can be discovered. For example: 'In the Fe area in the middle of the map, I discovered an iron source that should produce 30,000T of iron per year'. That is acceptable, but outrageously large sums are not (i.e. I found a 120MT/Y iron source!). This should let you have more freedom with your resources. Also, Rk can be mined at any mountain (the dark green), Lm at any forest (the light green) and all land within reasonable distance of a river is ar/nf.
