Another related genre I like to read is that of Science Fiction. There are many great and famous Sci-Fi authors and stories but for me one of the enduring best is Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C Clarke. A truly visionary story with a very surprising and humbling ending. The story details a human space mission to an enormous cylindrical alien spaceship that enters our solar system and is first mistaken for a new comet. There has not yet ever been a film made of this story but one is in the (much delayed) pipeline. It was supposed to have been released last year. I can't wait to see it.
