We met when we were young We had talked and laughed all afternoon I gave you my phone number You promised to call soon We met every week We talked everyday Your friendship meant the world to me In every way But when you tripped and fell And I offered you my hand And you said you didn’t need my help You said you could stand You got up and walked away You left me alone You my world cloudy My sun never shone And when I fell on hard times You just said tuff luck I felt vulnerable Like a sitting duck When I got past the hard days You weren’t gone for long When I won big You said you where wrong But now I look down at you I once thought you as a friend But you lost my trust Our friendship must end
