"Um.. Uh... I-" I tremble, the "confidence" now gone as he squints hastely at me. Eventually he sighs and rubs his eyes. "You've always been so sneaky, Ari. Not this time, though. Just HOW much did you hear?" I gulp. "Um... well.. you-you are dating Jason and um.. you- you.. you did "it" with him-" I trail off as Aden's face turns white even in the dark shadows of the hallway. "UGH! No, Ari, I was talking about how me and Jason were being loud because we were practicing for our BAND concert. God- why did you have to think THAT of all things-" He sighs in annoyance. He finally breaks the silence. "Ehm. As for me and Jason dating..." He takes a deep breath, unsure for how I'd react. "Yes, it's true, but PLEASE don't tell mom, you know how homophobic she can be. Besides, I've already planned to come out this weekend." "So... yo-your... Gay?" I mutter. "What if mom kicks you out?" He looks at me with a sad smile. "Well, I'll go live with Jason." "W-WHAT? And leave ME?" I yell with tears in my eyes. "Hey! SHHH! I don't know if that will ACTUALLY happen!" He reassures me. There is a silence between us. Now is my time! I should tell him I'm Trans! "Well... um- I-" I stutter. Aden looks at me. "Yeah?" "I.. NEVERMIND!" Dang it! "But, I support you.." I somehow manage to say. "Oh... Thanks!" His big brown eyes Glisten in the darkness. He actually seems happy. I say goodnight to him, and immediately collapse onto my bed, tired from everything that happened. My shaking body aches, as I drift off. ------------------------------------------------------- Huh? I jolt awake in my sun filled bedroom. Everything glows a deep morning orange. It must be early. I rub my eyes and limp to the bathroom. I brush my hair and brush my teeth. The tiny clock resting next to the sink read 5:17. SHOOT! I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THAT EARLY- but then my eyes are drawn to something next to the clock. Bandages and some hair scissors. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
