Back Story [so long]- Vortex was an happy and normal cat with a loving mother and a sister in a forest. Her mother originally named Vortex "Indigo" but something changed it later on... There mother left them in the den [a hollowed out tree log] to go hunting. She told them not to leave the den. A day ago, her friend told her some humans were exploring this part of the forest. Vortex's mom was planning on to catching something, eat and drink water, then leave and move to a new part of the forest. She didn't tell her daughters for she was afraid thy would worry and follow. It didn't go as plan because Fawn, Vortex's sister, knew something was wrong. Vortex noticed it too, but Fawn couldn't stop worrying and eventually suggested they go after there mom. They went outside and followed there mothers scent. Later on, Fawn heard a distant scream of a cat. She thought it was her mom so went dashing towards the voice. She lost her dad and couldn't lose her mom too. Vortex didn't here the scream so was confused when her sister ran off the scent path, and followed yelling "Fawn, what are you doing?" Vortex always had trouble hearing things from her left ear, she could hear things from it, but it has to be loud or close. Fawn stumbled into a clearing where a cat was being grabbed by a human in a orange vest. Fawn instinctively hid behind a bush, her dusty brown pelt matching the dirt and surroundings perfectly. Vortex followed suit, but her unusual pelt color caused attention to the humans. They put the cat in a cage and grabbed Vortex. The orange vest were scientists who were collecting animals in the "Evergreen Cat Forest" The forest with the most population of cats. they wanted animals to construct experiments on and thought dogs and cats would be the best option. They came to this forest to collect cat without spending anything. The forest rules is to not frighten the cats and don't take them. The orange vests didn't follow any of the rules. They grabbed Vortex, to Fawns horror and stuffed her in a cage. They continued searching for cats in the area, and Fawn seized the moment to run to Vortex "Indigo! Im so sorry! I will get you out, I promise!" Fawn cried. "Don't worry Fawn, RUN" Fawn looked at Vortex in surprise and said "I cant leave you here!" "Fawn, it my death wish for you to run far... look for mom... look for a new forest, a new home, please" Fawn tried to open the cage while Vortex was saying this but couldn't. "Go, they will come back." said Vortex. Fawn cried and ran away saying 'Im so sorry!" Vortex was taken to the lab and experimented on. The scientists wanted to know if they could stick back limbs that have been separated from the body so people who had there arm cut off can have there own arm. It was a start, but they made a what they call "Hover Cat" it took a long time and they even cut Vortex in half and she still lived. They stamped her with a white swirl, one of the Orange Vests unofficial logo. Some time later, after being cooped up in a cage, only alive for being a success, unlike the other cats before her. Vortex didn't want to die. She really didn't. The government found out about the Orange Vests and put them in jail for stealing wild life. The military released all the cats into the wild that were alive, but one pointed at Vortex and said "Oh my god, this cat has hovering limbs. The government didn't release Vortex for they were interested in how she was so different. More experiments, so many experiments... Vortex wanted to just leave! They called Vortex "Experiment "Vortex" Hover Cat" For the white mark on her head, which is permanent. Vortex was than going to be the first test subject to teleporting. They had two portals and pushed Vortex into on of them. They had no use for her any more, and wanted to see if this worked. Vortex didn't come out the other side, so the experiment was failure. But it wasn't. Vortex landed back into were she wanted to be, home. She was next to her hollow den and was so happy. She might have a chance to see her mom and sister again. She thought hard and teleported in a ally. Vortex was con fused at first, but saw the grey and silver pelt of her mother and felt so happy! "MOM!" Vortex cried out. Her mom looked up and was so surprised to see Vortex 'In...Indigo?" She asked a little uneasy, a little thin. "Yes mom it me!" Vortex jumped to her mom and tried to nuzzle her but her mom backed away "Wh...what happened to you?" Vortex launched into her story and her mother was shocked "Get away from me you freak!" her mom said. "Wha... mom, aren't you happy to see me?" Vortex was shocked "You are not Indigo, you aren't allowed to use my DEAD daughters name. your experiment "Vortex" hover cat. The Indy I know died a long time ago. You are a experiment!" Vortex was hurt so much by her mothers words, she teleported away. She was in yet another dark ally and sobbed there for hours. "Indigo?" said a voice behind. Vortex snapped and said "No, it's Vortex!
