ℹ️ MOBILE CONTROLS AVAILABLE ‼️ PLEASE READ FULL INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEST EXPERIENCE ‼️ Playing this project through TurboWarp is strongly recommended: https://turbowarp.org/662739370 KEYBOARD CONTROLS: M to switch between 12- and 24-hour clock Z or Y to enable day mode X to enable night mode Press the same key again to return to auto mode MOBILE CONTROLS: Tap left side to toggle day/night/auto mode Tap right side to switch between 12- and 24-hour clock ----- Day mode: light theme and daytime music Night mode: dark theme and nighttime music Auto mode: acts like day mode from 7:00 to 20:59 (8:59 PM), and night mode from 21:00 (9 PM) to 6:59 When you start the project, you may have to wait up to a minute for the animation to begin. This is to ensure that the music lines up with the ticking of the clock, as Scratch only allows music to be played from the beginning.
GeoClock (Geometry Clock) is a clock that plays music and displays geometric patterns in sync with the passage of time. Questions and feedback are welcome and encouraged! HUGE thanks to the Scratch Team for featuring this project on April 7th, 2022! September 30th, 2024: Thanks for 5000 loves! MUSIC LIST: 14 day songs 5 night songs 2 hourly day songs (plays every hour in Day Mode) 1 hourly night song (plays every hour in Night Mode) 1 midnight song (plays at 00:00 only) 23 songs in total UPDATES (August 7, 2025): • Redesigned the 12-hour clock. • Redesigned the day/night/auto mode icons. • Added a message when switching time formats. • Made the frame match the background colour for the first minute of every hour. • Removed eased movement, as it created visible seams between tiles. • Prevented the animation from starting immediately if run at the very start of a minute. • Made the project run at 60 FPS by default on TurboWarp. The full update history can be found here: https://gist.github.com/cocoelacanth/17e7e3ae765fb0f1ea1ad8c39166baf2 If you would like to try out new changes early, check out GeoClock Testing here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/839875219/ CREDITS The font used is Inter from Google Fonts. The design of GeoClock was inspired by the Uniqlock screensaver, which was available as part of Uniqlo Screensaver from 2009 to 2017. This project uses music by Fantastic Plastic Machine, originally composed for the Uniqlock screensaver. Fun fact: because there are 8 tiles on screen, each with 10 possible shapes to display, there are 100 million possible patterns that can appear on screen at any time. If you count tiles that are hidden behind the outer frame and the banner in the middle, that number goes up to 1 nonillion.
