This project exploits the fact different operating systems and browsers use different emoji styles. The bar chart emoji shown will look different to you depending on what device you're viewing the project from. It uses the colours to detect the emoji style, and then uses that to try to guess your operating system. If it guessed incorrectly or did not know, you can help improve it by commenting what colours the emoji is and what OS you're using!
