TW: Mentions of fights and blood. POV: ??? 3rd person The black cloaked figure ducked a little lower behind the bush, watching as Xisuma ran over to where Iskall laid unconscious on the floor. He was lucky he had heard the stupid Hermit’s elytra, allowing him just enough time to seek and find a hiding place. Ugh, it must have been the Swede’s communicator that gave away the location. He should have destroyed it when he had gotten the chance… but then the alert would have sent a notification to X anyways... The sound of footsteps brought him out of his scheming chain of thought, as he watched X carefully pick his limp friend up before hurrying away. Waiting just to be sure it was safe to come out, he listened until he was sure that he couldn’t hear the… admin’s… footsteps anymore. The cloaked man stood almost silently, as the plants around his waist shook and swayed with the slightest movement. Stepping out of the vegetation, he sighed and shook his head. “You can come out now you idiot~” he grumbled with a hiss, looking up at the swaying tree branches and his partner in crime trying to impersonate a monkey of sorts (he was failing miserably though,). “How’d you know I was here?!” The other wined, his grip loosening and shoulders slumping. “Even a naked mole rat could hear you from up there.,” “But I thought that they were deaf-” “...” The man on the floor peered up at his companion, to see that a faint glow was emitted from underneath his concealing disguise. He sighed and rested his head back for a moment before shaking it and walking back into the clearing where the battle had been fought a few mere minutes before. “Just get down from there you bumbling buffoon!” he called, not looking back. He hadn’t realized how hard he and the Swede had fought until he saw the aftermath of the battle. Grass and clods of dirt were ripped in clumps and strewn all over the place, trees bore the scars of sword marks in them… and blood stained the ground from where he had thrown his opponent. The man had to admit that Iskall had put up a good fight against him (especially for the fact that he wasn’t wearing any armour, and he was already injured from before the battle), and that some of his blows were still hurting badly. But not badly enough to stop him. Grabbing his sword and pulling it out of the ground, he sheathed it and walked back to where he had last left his friend. “Come on now, we have to get going.” he grumbled, maneuvering his way through the tall jungle vegetation. “We need to get back to base and prepare…” He said, trailing off as he looked around, trying to find his friend. “Uhm, X-?” “What?” The black cloaked man said, cutting him off before he could finish. “Where are you, you idiot?” A shift from the tree tops and shake of leaves from above pulled a weary sigh out of the man on the jungle floor. He craned his head back and as presumed, the red cloaked man was still in the tree. Hanging upside down, and clinging onto the branch for dear life. “Uhh- … I’m stuck….”
Well lookie here! It's a new chapter after almost two months!! And it's with the idiot duo- /j I'm so sorry I haven't updated this in a while, school's been a pain, and I lost motivation to do chapters for a bit. But!! I found a way to edit chapter titles on Scratch, so I can now post more chapters while in school, so they may become a little more consistent now. <3 I know it's a short chapter, but mostly transitional. I'm planning more for chapters 13 and 14! Question of the chapter: Would you help the man in the red cloak? Why or why not, and explain how you would/wouldn't. :P Thank you so much for reading, and I'll catch you in the next chapter! <333 -Opti
