My backstory for "swirly dragon". Anneau lived in the deep forests within a planet of which name cannot be pronounced in English. his home was woven between the trees, brightened up by the soft glow of his rings. he lived peacefully on his own, not wondering what the world could offer beyond his quaint little home in the trees. one day, while picking up shells by the shore near his forest grove, he noticed something he hadn't before. flying in the sky were other dragons, their scale colors ranging from light yellow to dark purple, but each of them had rings surrounding them just like Anneau. after that day, he longed for company, realizing just how lonely he had been. he continued to sit by the shore, day after day, but the ringed dragons never returned. one day, when he had just given up hope, a bright flash came from the bright sun. he blinked up at it, astonished. down came a dragon, her wings a beautiful yellow and her scales a pretty beige-ish color. instead of being surrounded with rings, she only had one, lightly hovering over her head. She introduced herself as Sundrop, the closest name to what hers was that we can think of in English. she told him she came from the bright orb in the sky, what she refured to as "Hoku." she told him that she was sent from Hoku to greet Anneau, and offer him company. he gladly accepted, showing Sundrop all of his forest island. both Anneau and Sundrop lived on the island until the Day of Dedication. Sundrop told Anneau that they must return to Hoku, but Anneau refused. Sundrop begged for him to come, but he continued to refuse. Sundrop told him that if he didnt come, she could never return. Anneau begged her to stay, but the choice was firmly set in her head. The day of Dedication was the day where they allied themselves to Hoku, and she had to make sure she did just that. "Why cant you return, my beautiful morning Sundrop?" Asked Anneau, "we have a life here." "Because, my friend, if I go up alone, Hoku will assign me someone else." she told him, "And if you come... I may return again with you." "Dont go, please," he begged. "I have to, my friend." she looked to the sky and arched her wings, preparing for flight, "I love you, and I have since i layed eyes on you. If only you'd come with me, we could have been together forever." Anneau watched as Sundrop flew up. she flew up into the clouds, her eyes set firmly on Hoku. he began to let small, blue tears fall from his eyes. He hadn't gotten a chance to explain, the reason he wouldn't go, the reason he COULDN'T go. Anneau couldn't fly. and now, he would live forever alone due to the neglection from his parents to teach him. Some say when you look to what us on Earth call the sun, you can see Sundrop flying around, crying out to her lost love. and those who have lost their love just as Anneau had? they can hear his desperate cries and large claps as he attempts to flap his wings to let him fly when they wonder alone though the forest. A sad story, I know, but it is the truth and nothing but the truth. Do you know why us humans wear rings when we are married? "because it signifies were married?" you say? No, thats just the idea in our heads. the real reason? to remember the love that the two ringed dragons had shared between one another, and even from millions of miles apart, their love still lasted. The End. (hope this was good! feel free to ask questions. thanks for letting me join, Blister! byeeeee)
