The Maystone Society: Titan's Awakening Act Zero, Prologue Darkness prowled the prison, swallowing and usurping all the nooks and crannies it could find. Silence followed its leader, spreading its wings of quiet across the small cell, creating a thin layer of unshattered, smooth, mirror-like noiselessness upon the black, like paint being eased across a dark canvas. It could be said that the murk was everything, and everything was the murk. But that would be a lie. Something else was in the cell. Darkness had crept over him long ago, making his form almost indistinguishable from the weathered, pale grey stone. But he was still there. He had been there almost since the beginning, lying on the floor, bleached hands neatly tucked together on his chest, legs crossed over each other, toes pointed. His eyes were closed. He might have been dead. But he wasn't. For if you looked close enough, you could see the slight movement of his body as he breathed. In... out...in... out. The pattern of his inhalation had never once ceased or differentiated or altered in the thousands of years that he'd been down here. After so long, it was so unlikely that it would ever change. But not impossible. Because little parts of the being's mind were waking up from the slumber he had been cursed to. And those other parts were rousing others; slowly, but it was happening. It was definitely happening, and the process was increasing in speed with every moment. King Titan was awakening.
The music is Portal- Christoffer Isefalt (there's meant to be two dots above the 'a', but my keyboard doesn't have that option). I love the music so much- After so much work, it is finally here! Sorry that it is so short, it's still a prologue and Chapter 1 will be a lot longer! Thank you so much to everyone who has helped support this! You have no idea what this means to me! I give my thanks to the characters who will be in this story for their patience. They've waited a long time for their tale to be written, and I give them my gratitude. Thumbnail made by me on Canva :D You may be thinking 'But you said that for Afterthought and there hasn't been the first chapter for months!' Yes, I acknowledge that. I'm sorry for doing things like this, but I won't be continuing with Afterthought because: 1) I barely thought it through. Barely. I just posted the prologue. After that, I had no idea what the plot would be. 2) I've wanted to create my own world rather than using someone else's. Tui.T Sutherland is an amazing writer, but I prefer creating my own series.
