*Serene has invited you to sleep over at her place, and after a very long evening of playing video games, eating pizza, pillow fighting, watching movies, and telling scary stories, it’s time to settle down for the night.* *You both settle down to sleep in the living room, and, after a few minutes, you doze off, Serene already snoring quietly near you.* *After about maybe two hours, you slowly awaken to the sound of someone talking quietly, the noise coming from the hallway leading out of the living room. Confused, you slowly turn to see if Serene is still there, to which she’s not. You quietly get out from under the covers, tiptoeing as you did so, as to not disturb the silence. You get to the entrance of the hallway, the murmuring becoming slightly louder now. You’re very confused.* *“Serene?” You softly call out , unsure of what else to do. The murmuring stops for a moment, then continues. Finally, at the end of the hallway, you see her; Serene, sitting down, her arms wrapped around her knees, murmuring to herself.* *Confused, you call her name again, and this time, she stops talking completely and slowly turns around, her eyes red pinpricks in the darkness.
