//NOV 5 2022 UPDATE// I have made a better engine than this, by using @griffpatch tutorials, polygon filler by @PianoApprentice and my own ideas, and will not be using this engine anymore. But I won't unshare it just for the sake of having a record of the past. It's pretty fun even if there's a better engine. @TheWatermelonMan //END OF UPDATE TEXT// original project description below ⚠️This is NOT a game.⚠️ It's some starter code for making 3D-like projects. (full remix information inside) Controls: [⬅] look left [➡] look right [⬆] walk forward [⬇] walk backward [space] jump Use DISPLAY MODE 0 for two-dimensional hitbox Use DISPLAY MODE 1 for one-point perspective mode I have always wanted to try a 3D game, but I always thought it was too hard. Now I tried to make something 3D in the simplest way I could. It uses clones instead of drawing 3D polygons with pen. However pen is also available, but that's just on the ground. It uses one-point perspective which isn't really 3D but looks similar to 3D. That's why some straight lines become curved. Original coding by @TheWatermelonMan Much thanks to @MrUpsidedownTacos Log of Updates: March 11 2022 - basic things (walls, cosmetic items, two display modes) March 12 2022 - jumping and standing on things March 18 2022 - breakthrough on layer sorting!
