(Lmk if the colors are off or I added up the points wrong. I was planning on adding more to this but then I realized I probably shouldn't put a bunch of effort into art I can't really change before I'm accepted XD) +20 for existing +1 for liking +2 for favoriting +5 for following Points: 28 Apitoxin Spark eyes (before transformation, common) Spikes (common) Cat ears (rare) Raptor tail (common) Paws (before transformation, common) Bat wings (common) Circle charm (common) Dreamender (super rare) Apitoxin is obsessed with anything that could fall under the label "bug". He loves crickets, he loves ants, he loves beetles, he loves worms, he loves spiders. You could say he eats, breathes, and lives bugs. This is also what he seems to want his person to do. He concocts dreams of maggot filled food, where you won't realize they're there until you take a bite. Cupboards invested with cockroaches to such a degree that they burst out and swarm you when the door is opened. Literal butterflies in your stomach, constantly flying out in thick streams to tickle your throat and trigger your gag reflex. When he was a dreamsender and had a smaller part in dreams he liked to practice making the perfect segmented leg or just the right sheen on a bee's wing. Over time, he became more restless, demanding more freedom to intensify the insectoid aspects of a dream. When he was participating in a dream project his "signature" was sneaking an irremovable green beetle on the back of his person's neck to give them a constant tickling sensation. He did this whenever possible, sometimes even trying to slip it in last minute against the wishes of those he was working with. His person has a fear of creepy crawlies, and he likes to say he's making an attempt to get them over their fear in a very... hands-on way. It's possible that he just likes the way they shudder and scream, or that he wants to punish them for their treatment of bugs in their waking hours. When he was a dreamsender he constantly wore a pair of goggles that made his eyes big and buglike. He loved them dearly and hated when anyone touched them. After his "growth spirt" he's no longer small enough to wear them, so he hangs them around one of his horns at all times to keep them wth him. He's confused and angry that the other dreamsenders of the headspace now shun him. He was doing what he did best, honing his craft! It's not his problem if his dreams spooked his person a little. That one's hair would stand on end if they saw a convincing caterpillar... should that mean he should give up making dreams about what he loved? He was forced to wander the shadowy outskirts of the headspace, away from the places other dreamsenders gathered, when eventually a baby dreamsender appeared ever so conveniently right in front of him. Cabbage Spark eyes (common) Curved (uncommon) Goat ears (common) Raptor tail (common) Claws (common) Butterfly wings (uncommon) Circle charm (common) Dreamsender (common) When Apitoxin found Cabbage she had practically only just appeared. Because of this, she had no idea that she was supposed to run away when he first approached. Finally, Apitoxin had found someone who would actually /speak/ with him, without any defiant or groveling or fearful nonsense. This was someone he could teach, laugh with, joke with... he found that he missed these things, despite himself. Quickly, he scooped her up with his enormous claws and stole her away to the far reaches of the mindspace, before a dreamsender could appear and mess it all up. He had wanted to call her Cardenolide, after the poison in milkweed and therefore also in monarch butterflies. Venom and Poison, that's who they'd be. However, when he started getting attached and began to affectionately call her "Cabbage" (after her cabbage moth colored wings), that name was the one that stuck. If someone walked up to her and asked her what her name was she'd answer "Cabbage" without even thinking. Apitoxin was delighted to find that Cabbage shared a fondness for bugs with him. They'd often try to make dreams together to hone her skill, where he'd ask her to make something like convincing anthill tunnels or accurately shaped pupae, helping her along the way. She loved the challenge, and he held surprising patience for her when she struggled. Her favorite things to make were scenery. None of it was quite "exciting" by Apitoxin's standards, though. Cabbage liked bright fields of flowers teeming with butterflies, or verdant forests full of cricket and cicada song. None of it directly interacted with their person, none of it carried the punch of Apitoxin's devious tricks. Ah, well. They'd get there eventually. For now Apitoxin could fill her picnic-ready fields with ravenous ants and string her lively forests with spider webs to walk into. Cabbage likes to think of herself as clever and quick-witted. At one point she went through a phase where she would try to spark debates with Apitoxin, over things as simple as who
could make the more convincing mandible to as deep as what the purpose of their existence was. Apitoxin shut that down, though, when she eventually asked why they had to hide away from others of their kind. The argument got more and more heated, with Cabbage saying she deserved to meet other dreamsenders and experience life outside the outskirts, and Apitoxin saying that the other dreamsenders were narrow-minded creatures that stifled other's creative energy. He thought they'd squash her spirit, that they'd kill her love of bugs because it was what made him a dreamender in the first place. He thought they'd turn her against him with their words, or worse, prevent her from returning to him the second they saw her. She thought they'd show her new techniques beyond what he was capable of teaching. She thought she'd be able to find friends her age and belong with a bigger community. She thought that maybe she could use her reasoning skills to convince them to let him come back, despite the mutual hatred Apitoxin shared with them. Apitoxin was having none of it, though, and he blew up at her. He forbade her from speaking of the other dreamsenders or even arguing with him again. This caused a sort of rift in their relationship. Around Apitoxin, Cabbage became much more meek, sometimes responding to his attempts at conversation with nothing more than nods or head shakes. Inwardly, though, she was concocting a plan to prove him wrong. She would find the other dreamsenders and convince them to accept him like she did. Time would tell if her plan would work, or fall apart at the seams. (Probably fall apart honestly but a dreamsender can, well, dream). Sorry I had to make it traditional I find it very hard to make good digital art ;u; lmk if you need a better picture Species and myo made by @-Blue_Pastels-
