SPOILER WARNING! IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE TRAILER, IT’S ON YOUTUBE. GO WATCH IT I just watched the teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home and... I’m really excited. The trailer confirmed one of the biggest rumors about this movie: Green Goblin is going to appear in it. And in the trailer, there was a scene in which one of Goblin’s explosives landed on the ground and blew up a car. How do I know it’s one of Goblin’s bombs? Because it’s the EXACT SAME DESIGN USED IN THE SPIDER-MAN MOVIE FROM 2002!!! Which raises some questions - how? At the end of that movie, Goblin was impaled by his own glider (in a scene inspired by the “Green Goblin’s Last Stand” comic) and his death was a major plot point for the rest of Tobey Maguire’s Spidey films. My theory is that even though the design of the Goblin bombs are the same as the 2002 film, and even though Willem Dafoe is apparently going to be reprising his role, it is NOT the exact same Goblin from the movie. Maybe a “variant” from a branch timeline of that universe, or maybe a Goblin from a different universe altogether. And that goes for Doctor Octopus too. Even though the Ock shown in the trailer has the same actor and same gear, I think it might be from a variant timeline of 2004’s Spider-Man 2, or from a completely different universe. And now, Electro. We never saw him either, but he has been confirmed for the film AND we saw ominous yellow electricity throughout the trailer. Even though he is also going to be played by an actor who portrayed him previously (Jamie Foxx, who was the actor of Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2), I do NOT think that he is from a branch timeline of the movie he previously appeared in. Why? Well, the Electro from TASM 2 was inspired by the design from the Ultimate Marvel Comics (a separate continuity from the main Marvel Comics). In that movie, when Max Dillon became Electro, his body basically became pure energy. And it was blue, and so was the electricity he shot from his hands. But the Electro in THIS movie is shooting yellow electricity AND according to Jamie Foxx himself, is NOT going to look anything like the version from TASM 2. So I think that the Electro here is either from the MCU universe, or from another another that is not a branch of the TASM universe. But that’s all I have to say about the trailer. I have some smaller theories, but since there’s not much evidence pointing towards them, I don’t want to talk about the, yet. I hope you enjoyed me going into geek mode and rambling on and on about a 3-minute teaser trailer
