THIS TOOK ME 5 DAYS TO MAKE, I was originally was going to make a 2 player game where player 2 was a blue tank with blue lasers, but that idea had to be scraped. Actually, a lot of ideas had to be scraped during the game's development! either couldn't make the idea come to life with my current coding knowledge, or it felt like I was going to get hit with a BAN HAMMER. -----------------------PLAY-TEST---------------------------------- On day 3, I decided to do a play-test! I allowed my 5th and 4th period classes to be the first people to play and test the game! I also allowed random people to test the game. At first, I decided to go with a W,S,E (e to shoot) control layout, but this was scraped due to the controls being cramped to only one spot on the keyboard. The play-test had some responses like "this game seems similar to galaga or space invaders!" (If you don't know, space invaders and galaga are both old arcade games made in the 1900's) But during development of the game I decided to add 2 features that would make a difference when the main game modes were going to be released. The first being a ammo system. If your ammo reaches zero press E to reload, but reloading has a cooldown. The second is cooldown system for shooting. These two features both prevent any player spamming the attack button with E without a consequence. ----------------------WHAT'S NEXT?----------------------------- When I soon add a new game mode (PvP) I'll change the controls to make PvP more comfortable for the second player. #games
