use the space bar or arrow keys to change slides click to zoom in and pan around here's my art process for those of you who are curious about how I draw! some notes about each slide vv 1 - rough sketch! here, I get the basic pose, and expression down 2 - next, I flip my canvas to help me see any anatomy errors, turn the sketch layer opacity down, and create another sketch above it. many people would call this the lineart stage, but since I use the same brush I use for sketching and only add details at this stage, I consider it a second, cleaner sketch. 3 - here, I add base colors! this is my least favorite step, but I've found that using several layers for bases makes it easier for me (i.e., messily coloring in the skin, then adding a layer on top for the clothing, etc) 4 & 5 - next, I add hue variations. usually, I simply add reddish tones to the skin at key points, but for this piece, I decided to add a slight gradient to the dress as well. after laying down the colors, I blend them out with procreate's smudge tool 6 - shading!! usually, I prefer using cooler colors for shading, so I use a purply tone of pink on a multiply layer to shade 7 - I then blend out certain parts of the shadow layer (in depth shading tutorial coming soon maybe ? :eyes:) 8 & 9 - to transition from flat shading to more painterly rendering, I take my sketch brush and go over the edges of the skin shading with a peachy color. then, I gaussian blur the layer, and lower the opacity or duplicate the layer until the shadows seem a bit softer 10 - at this point, I spend about 30-45 minutes (sometimes more, depending on the piece) to add highlights, hue variations in the shading, eye details, and clothing details. I add a simple background, sign my username, and I'm done! hope you like-! let me know if you'd like an in depth tutorial on anything I mentioned here, and I might make it ^-^ art dump and qna project (still trying to figure out a format for that) coming soon :) art by me; do not steal, repost, or recolor program used: procreate zoom in code: @colorsnatch music: ・rainy day - tysu and spencer hunt ・autumn morning - softy #art #process
